How TimeToBill works
How you fetch hours, review them, and prepare them as a draft invoice.
Updated: 2026-04-25 Nederlandse versie
TimeToBill connects your time-tracking software to your invoicing or accounting software. You fetch hours, choose what you want to bill, group the lines, and prepare them as a draft invoice.
You can find the currently supported integrations on the pages for time-tracking software and invoicing software.
The short version
TimeToBill is a desktop app. It connects to your selected services from your own computer.
TimeToBill stores your settings and billing status in a local file on your computer. That file is called a TimeToBill file, or .ttb file.
We do not store your time-tracking or invoicing data.
Step overview
| Action | Where it happens | What matters |
|---|---|---|
| Track time | In your time-tracking software | TimeToBill is not a timer. |
| Fetch entries | From your own computer | The app uses the connection you set up. |
| Review hours | In TimeToBill | You filter, select, group, and edit lines. |
| Create a draft invoice | From TimeToBill to your invoicing software | The invoice remains a draft until you check and send it. |
| Track status | In your local TimeToBill file | TimeToBill knows which entries have already been used. |
Data and storage
- In your TimeToBill file: settings and billing status.
- In your operating system's secure storage: API keys for the services you connect.
- With your connected services: your time entries stay in your time tracker and your invoices stay in your invoicing software.
- With TimeToBill: data needed for your license, order, TimeToBill invoices, and support.
What TimeToBill does not do
- TimeToBill does not track time itself. Use supported time-tracking software for that.
- TimeToBill is not full accounting software. You check and send the invoice in your own invoicing or accounting software.
- TimeToBill does not sync your TimeToBill file between devices. If you use a cloud folder, your cloud provider handles that sync.
